A Note of Thanks

Thank you to everyone who has written in with condolences. I appreciate your support immensely. I am sorry I cannot respond to everyone individually right now, but I will catch up in time. I am sure that Marcie would be overwhelmed. I'll see everyone at the ceremony and/or the wake.

Dear Frank,
I just found out about Marcie. I worked with her before I left the Union-Tribune last year. She was actually very much in my thoughts recently, as I was writing a story about young women with breast cancer (the cover story of this week's CityBeat). I mention her, actually, though not by name. She is the former co-worker I spoke to a few times but didn't really know. I regret that I didn't take the time to learn more about her. She was such a lovely woman. After writing this story, I feel compelled to become active with breast cancer advocacy and awareness. I won't ever forget Marcie, or any of the other women who've shared their stories with me. I'm so sorry for your loss. I wanted to email you directly, but I couldn't figure out how. My most heartfelt condolences, AnnaMaria Stephens
